Gas supply will be cut off for 10 hours on Thursday in some northern parts of Dhaka. The gas shutdown, as announced by Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC will start at 7:00 AM and last till 5:00 PM, impacting several areas in the northern side of the capital.
The regions to be affected by a total shutdown of gas are Uttarkhan, Dakkhin Khan, Fayezabad and Ashkona, up to the Shitalakkha River. The disruption is an unavoidable action for the shifting of a gas pipeline, designed to settle issues of recurring low pressure that have affected the region.
Titas Gas has also announced that during the suspension period, low pressure will be felt in the nearby areas, which might cause inconvenience to the residents and businesses.
Titas Gas has regretted the short term inconvenience and clarified that the move is being made to put an end to the low pressure issues and provide more hassle-free and assured gas supply in the future. Consumers of the affected zones have been instructed to make proper arrangements in advance.
