Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus handed over the prestigious Independence Award 2025, the highest civilian award in the country to seven prominent people in honor of their valuable contribution to the national level. The event occurred at Osmani Memorial Auditorium, in front of high officials, military chiefs and representatives of the government.

Family members of six of the recipients accepted the honor on behalf of the awardees. Badruddin Mohammad Umar declined to accept the award for personal reasons. As a result, the government has decided to keep a copy of the award in the National Museum to acknowledge his contributions.
