Promotional messages and calls can sometimes be extremely disturbing. These annoying messages from telecommunication companies can come as early as sunrise and last after midnight. But there is one good update.
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has launched the ‘Do Not Disturb’ option, helping people stop the messages sent by companies trying to promote their products and services. But there is more to it than meets the eye.
Customers of Grameenphone can enable the DND option using a simple procedure. But this option can restrict promotional SMS and calls from GP only. Besides GP, other promotions are not restricted.
1. To activate the option, dial *121*1101#
2. To deactivate the option, dial *121*1102#
3. To check the status of the option, dial *121*1103#
You also need to give a maximum of three calendar days from the request date to activate or deactivate the Do Not Disturb option from Grameenphone. Users of Banglalink can call *121*8*6# to stop getting the messages and calls.
