Ghosting, flexing, orbiting, clapback, benching and many more are some of the popular conversation terms used by this modern-day gen that defines the way of how they approach or reply to the persons they talk with. Since, the current communication between the individuals are majorly taking place online many colors and abbreviations are added into it which confuses the people who are unfamiliar to this. This shift is turning the convo less straightforward, fast-paced and complex. Okay, let me not bore you with the rant and make you familiar with the term “DRY TEXTING”.

What is dry texting?

If someone sends the replies like ‘K’, ‘Hmm’, ‘asap’ and logs off themselves swiftly without prior indication, then you are dry texted. Such one word or abbreviated replies are nothing but the reflection of the person who is at the other end of the conversation with lack of interest or even emotions to take forward the chat any further. 

Purpose of Dry Texting!

  • Busy or distracted
  • No interest
  • Intention of Ghosting someone
  • Struggle in expressing inner emotions
  • End a conversation quickly
