Saint Martin’s Island, which is locally referred to as ‘Narikel Jinjira’ (Coconut Island) is Bangladesh’s only coral island, located in the northeastern Bay of Bengal. Measuring about 3 square kilometers in area, it is situated 9 kilometers south of the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf peninsula and is the country’s southernmost location.
How to get there?
Tourists generally leave Dhaka for Teknaf by bus or local flights to Cox’s Bazar and then drive to Teknaf. From Teknaf there are daily ferries and speedboats to Saint Martin’s Island which takes approximately 2 to 3 hours at sea, providing scenic views of the Bay of Bengal.
