Located in Old Dhaka’s Sutrapur which is both lively and complicated is the forthcoming Eid special ‘Prem Bhai’ boasting an exciting storyline that is rooted in the community’s adversity. Directed by Imraul Rafat and written by Sajib Khan, the drama features Tawsif Mahbub in the lead role alongside co-stars Tanjim Saiara Totini and Faruk Ahmed.
The plot centers on Prem Bhai, a locally recognized figure for assisting young lovers through their difficulties. However, Prem Bhai was not just a random person in the story. He also has a personal history to bring to the table. Two years previously, he experienced a heartbreak which altered the trajectory of his life.
He was dating a girl named Shila. After a prolonged relationship, she breaks up with him for his lack of financial stability. After this event, he devoted himself to aiding others with love. This element of his backstory serves to bring tension to the central conflict as ‘Prem Bhai’ is more than just a love story in which one can retrieve ideas of resilience, loss or purpose for one’s own way of life out of the story as well.
The play was created by CMV as part of a special lineup of more than 20 Eid-themed plays on its YouTube channel. With its original setting and captivating storyline ‘Prem Bhai’ will provide a heartfelt glimpse into the emotions and society of Old Dhaka.
