British-Bangladeshi musician Mumzy has teamed up with New York based Bangladeshi singer Muza to drop their new single “Ki Kori.” The song name means “What can I do?” in English, explores the intricacies of unspoken feelings and love.
Mumzy, renowned for fusing R&B and South Asian melodic styles and Muza, who won acclaim for introducing new styles of Bengali music, blend so effortlessly on this song. With their harmonies, backed by DJ Lyan’s refined beats, they build an intimate, cross cultural music that works perfectly.
Talking about the collaboration, Mumzy explained, “This song is the feelings we have struggled to describe, the hesitation, the want and the fear that goes along with love. Collaborating with Muza has been amazing and we want our community to feel ‘Ki Kori’ and connect with anyone who ever felt this kind of connection but couldn’t define it.
Muza further stated, “With DJ Lyan’s ill production, the track embodies the feelings of love, yearning and unsaid words in a manner that connects deeply. Blessed to be included on this song with Mumzy, the true trailblazer of Bangla music.”
“Ki Kori” is the second official single off DESI TRILL’s new EP, “Brown Is Everywhere Volume 2” is expected to release on April 16.
