Zimbabwe arrived Bangladesh for two test series after their T20 series which took place in 2024 May. The test series began at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, it is the first time in the history of Bangladesh that a test match is taking place at this venue. The two skippers Najmul Hossain Shanto of Bangladesh and Craig Ervine of Zimbabwe Men’s team arrived at the crease for the toss. And the game kicked off with Bangladesh winning their toss and they opted to bat first.

It was quite surprising for some of the fans to see Bangladesh batting first because the pitch is slower with low bounce and sluggish nature. So, it majorly helps the spinners rather the pacers eventually, for batters they need to have patience to put on the runs on the scoreboard executing perfect cricketing shots.

The first innings of Bangladesh ended the very first day and Zimbabwe finished it with a balanced contest and on the second day we could also see the resilience of Zimbabwe’s batsmen and the disciplined bowling attack of Bangladesh on the other side.

Test Series: Second Day Recap

1st Innings

Bangladesh – 191/10

Zimbabwe – 273/10

2nd Innings

Bangladesh – 57/1

Zimbabwe – Yet to bat
