Built for the আইসিসি চ্যাম্পিয়ন্স ট্রফি ২০২৫ showdown on February 23th 2025, India and Bangladesh will face off at Dubai which gives us another reason to revisit the last ODI encounter between the two at this venue. It’s an unforgettable final in the 2018 Asia Cup, the stakes were high by turning the match into a dramatic last-ball thriller.
Though stand-in captain Rohit Sharma was at the helm in absence of Virat Kohli, India chose to bat first. Bangladesh’s openers, Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz put together a strong opening partnership of 120.

However, India made a comeback by ripping through the middle order and quick wickets led by Jadhav’s spell that ignited a collapse for Bangladesh batting order. Eventually under tremendous pressure exerted by the Indian bowling unit, they managed only 13 runs collectively. Das’s 121-run innings fell prey to the quality bowling of the Indian side and they scored only 222 before being bowled out in the 49th over.

Having set a rather modest target, India found it challenging to chase on a tricky surface against persistent Bangladeshi bowling. Wickets fell at crucial times making for a nervous Indian run chase. With an injured Jadhav returning to bat in the final over and sealing the victory with a leg-bye, it ensured India won by three wickets. Now, with both teams returning back to Dubai after six years, fans expect another thrilling encounter.
