The 266th pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis who is from Latin America took his last breath on 21 April 2025 at the age of 88. He is known for his simplicity, inclusive approach and the vision to spread peace for the people beyond the differences. He was born on 17 December 1936 in Buenos Airlines, Argentina and later, he chose the name Fracis to reflect his devotion to Saint Francis of Assisi.
He died due to the prolific health issues which he has been encountering for a long period of time including the lung disease and pneumonia.

He was the first pope to wash the feet of women and Muslim prisoners during the holy week and this broke the long-standing tradition in the Catholic Church. He frequently visited the people who are disabled, underprivileged and terminally ill and he continued to donate them through the Vatican Charity arm. He is leaving behind a legacy which is known for his compassion and reformative acts.
