The Bengali Movie Industry has produced some of the most treasurable and highly valued movies throughout the history of Indian Cinema. Recently a lot of focus has been given towards the Bengali counterparts, thanks to the OTT developments and the availability of multiple platforms for a wider range of movies, Bengali movies are celebrated and recognized. Here is the impressive list of Bengali Film Releases in January 2025. 

January 3 Bengali Movie Releases 

Turuper Tass

A carefree road trip takes a dark turn when a stolen car resurfaces with a dead body and explosives. Mehboob Khan, an unsuspecting buyer, finds himself framed as a terrorist and spends five years in prison. Upon his release, Mehboob embarks on a gripping quest to uncover the truth, unravel a five-year-old conspiracy, and reclaim his life in this tale of betrayal and redemption.

Parama: A Journey With Aparna Sen

‘Parama: A Journey With Aparna Sen’, directed by Suman Ghosh, is a Documentary celebrating and reliving Aparna Sen’s journey from a renowned and Popular actress to a trailblazing Bengali filmmaker, discussing her feminist ethos and strong impact on Indian cinema.

Bhaggyolokkhi

A married middle aged couple finds themselves in a complete mess when they stumble upon a Suitcase full of cash and a dead body. The following issues with the Police, Strange Goons and Killers make their lives more complicated.

Oporichito

After a brutal attack, the protagonist survives with fragments of his memories lost and left in distortion. He even forgets his own wife, leaving a big mystery of an unknown woman and a huge secret that will ruin his life.

Pataligunjer Putul Khela 

A fun family drama of a man named Gopal Mukherjee who practises the art of Putul Khela or beni Putuler Naach who wishes to withstand his father’s wishes and his wife who moves after marriage to Patali Gunj. The movie is a humorous narrative of a real life family and all the drama that comes with it.

January 17 Bengali Movie Release

FeluBakshi

Felubakshi follows detectives Felubakshi and Debjani as they investigate a series of murders in Mukherjee Bari, uncovering a conspiracy beyond family rivalries. Suspicion, emotional turmoil, and hidden secrets drive this thrilling mystery.

Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kicchu Nei

The movie follows the trial of a murder case and the prominent characters in focus are the 12 members of the Jury who are present for the investigation. “In this subtle distinction between truth and lies, there is no such thing as absolute truth! Truth…lies…illusion,” wrote the Production House in the trailer announcement.

An inspiring Biographical film about the life and journey of Noti Binodini, a pioneer actress in the Bengali Theater and one of the first actresses to write her own play and a Biography. The movie is supposed to be based on her Autobiography ‘Amar Katha’ published in 1913.

Ei Raat Tomar Amaar
