There was a conflict that broke out in the Bangladesh Football club early this year 2025, around 18 senior players boycotted their training sessions to remove their head coach Peter Butler from the position. This is due to the allegations claiming he was not treating the girls properly but with inequality. But he returned as the head coach for the seniors again and some of the rebel footballers agreed to join the team.

And today a new concern has sprouted in the National Women’s Football team of Bangladesh that the 10 rebel footballers including Sabina Rituparna, Monika Chakma, Masura Parveen, Maria Manda, Matsushima Sumaiya, Shamsunnahar Senior, Krishna Rani, Rupana Chakma, and Sanjida Akhter left to Bhutan. As the tri-series are nearing its dates, the seniors involved in the dispute whose position in the team is at stake due to the ongoing dispute with the head coach.

The members of BFF claim that these 10 rebel footballers were the key factors to induce the allegations against the head coach. So, to avoid further chaos and confusions within the team they are planning whether to include them or not. In addition to that, the Bhutan league has been suspended due to the unforeseen barrier in the registration of the players by some clubs.

“There is a reason! Have they forgotten what they did against the coach so quickly? … that’s right, we have given them a chance to make amends” said a BFF member
