The Bangladesh Tigers, a squad of retired Bangladesh cricketers such as Mohammad Ashraful, Elias Sunny, Mohammed Nazimuddin and Naeem Islam have pulled out of the unauthorized Asian Legends League (ALL) following the orders from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The team is set to arrive in India on March 9 to participate in the T20 tournament, which is for retired cricketers. They were set to kick-start their campaign on March 10 against Indian Royals in Udaipur and then play against Afghanistan Pathans the next day. Nonetheless, the Bangladesh Tigers did not participate in the tournament arguing that the league had not been officially sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) or the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Ashraful, who was set to lead the Bangladesh Tigers confirmed their withdrawal stating, “We were supposed to take part in the Asian Legends League. But the tournament is not officially approved by the ICC, so we won’t be taking part and are returning home.” The former South African cricketer and recently appointed Bangladesh Tigers coach Herschelle Gibbs vented his frustration on Twitter, stating that he did not get any travel information about the event.
The five team tournament now becomes a four team event after the withdrawal of the Bangladesh Tigers and the tournament will finish with the final on March 18.
