Australian cricketer David Warner is entering the Indian film industry after his long standing dream of being a part of Tollywood. Famous for his love for Indian films particularly the films of actor Allu Arjun, Warner has frequently entertained his fans by imitating the classic dance steps and dialogues of Arjun’s movies in the social media.
Now, Warner’s long awaited Tollywood entry will be accompanied by a special cameo in the new film Robinhood directed by Venky Kudumula. The movie features Nithiin and Sreeleela in the main roles. This surprise announcement was made by producer Ravi Shankar at an event in Hyderabad on March 3rd 2025. Shankar was initially reluctant but went on to confirm Warner’s entry hailing it as a proud moment for Indian cinema.
Indications of Warner’s debut into films started when Australian media broke behind the scenes pictures of a film shoot in India. Warner was reported to be part of an action sequence which sparked rumors of his appearance in an Indian movie. His work with SS Rajamouli on a commercial last year had already generated interest but his presence in Robinhood is his formal Tollywood debut.
