Highlights of 11th Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival 2025

The Closing Ceremony of the 11th Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival (DIMFF) took place at Star Cineplex, Shimanto Shambhar concluding a colorful celebration of mobile filmmaking. The festival this year received a total of 117 submissions from 28 countries out of which 27 films were selected officially and in four different categories, prizes were allocated.

The event consisted of an opening speech delivered by Professor Sumon Rahman at which time Gias Uddin Selim, the chief guest presented the awards to the jury members, UNHCR representatives and festival director Hossain Haque.

The ceremony showcased a total of 13 films leaving behind an impression on the attendees. The jury member Taneam Rahman Angshu praised the creativity of the films pointing out the formidable draw of their messages despite the scarcity of technical resources.

Winning Films and Recognitions:

Among the awards were, “Message” by Saeed Moltaji from Iran took the award for the Open Door Category, MC Jonet’s “Limbus” was the recipient of the Vertical Film Category award. “Wandering Minds” and “Lost Lessons” by Abeer Bhaskar of the USA won the Short Film Category prize while Khoirom Anik’s “WAY OUT” swept up the One Minute Film Category award. In the UNHCR mobile filmmaking workshop category, the winner was “The Stateless.”

Sayeda Sadia Mehjabin concluded the function with a vote of thanks acknowledging the participation of guests and supporters who had put their best in making this festival a huge success.
